About Soma

NADIA FRAGA, M.S.W.

Supervisee in Social Work
( She / Her )

Virtual or In-person Fairfax Office

Nadia is a trauma-trained, somatically oriented, and experientially based psychotherapist who works with adolescents, adults, and couples. She believes healing begins when we feel safe enough to honor our stories, emotions, and the wisdom of the body. With warmth and compassion, she creates a grounded space where clients can explore new ways of moving through pain, grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Whether navigating complex trauma, relational wounds, or stuck patterns, Nadia meets each client with creative curiosity and deep respect.

Her therapeutic approach draws from bottom-up, body-centered modalities such as Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-Informed CBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Nadia is certified in Applied Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Movement (Levels 1–3) and integrates these practices to support resilience, regulation, and self-connection.

As a multicultural therapist of Chinese and Costa Rican heritage, Nadia brings a culturally attuned lens to identity exploration, intergenerational trauma, and family complexity. She speaks conversational Spanish and is happy to incorporate it when helpful for connection or clarity.

Nadia also offers spiritually integrative therapy for clients who seek it. She has particular expertise in supporting women and couples recovering from religious trauma—including the impact of purity culture—helping them reclaim agency and embody their full selves.

In her work with couples, Nadia supports deepening connection, enhancing communication, and cultivating intimacy, whether preparing for marriage or navigating seasons of change. She is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator and is passionate about helping partners build resilient, emotionally connected relationships.

Nadia is available to see clients virtually for all of Virginia. She will hold in-person sessions for clients in our Fairfax office.
